Tracy qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1999 with a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy. She spent 12 years in the NHS, specialising in sensory integration therapy. After an extended break to care for her son who is an autistic PDAer and has struggled to engage in education and the wider community, in 2021 Tracy re-trained as an accredited Level 3 NVR practitioner and is registered with NVR UK. She is training the next generation of NVR practitioners within London and Kent NHS Trusts.
Tracy runs a not-for-profit enterprise supporting parents and families using NVR principles and works extensively with local organisations and CYPMHS. She also works with the PDA Society delivering training on PDA to parents and schools across the South East.
Tracy is proud to be a lived experience practitioner – combining her previous professional experience as an OT and her current work as an NVR practitioner with her first-hand experience being a mum to a child who finds everyday living a challenge and displays many forms of distressed behaviour. She is passionate about working with families who experience isolation and are often misunderstood because of their distressed behaviours which may be associated with PDA, autism, ADHD and developmental trauma. Through using the principles of NVR, building connections and providing families with the knowledge and skills to be able to understand and support their children, Tracy enables families to transform lives together.
