Play Therapy is a form of psychotherapy, suitable for children who are experiencing social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Children’s primary form of communication is through play, as they haven’t yet gained the language skills to express their conscious and unconscious feelings. In Play Therapy sessions, children have the opportunity to explore and master different skills and experiences through creative mediums such as art, clay, music, therapeutic storytelling, creative visualisation, movement, puppets and sand play.
The relationship between child and therapist is integral, fostering empowerment and self-awareness. An integrative and holistic approach to therapy enables the children Naomi works with to express their emotions freely, with few limitations, in a non-judgemental and safe environment. She is continuously inspired by each individual child’s innate ability to overcome life’s challenges and feels privileged to be a part of their journey, witnessing the wondrous healing power of play.
