Dr Alex completed her BSc (Hons) undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Exeter where she also achieved a Masters degree in Psychological Research Methods. Dr Alex completed her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University in 2019.
Dr Alex Kimber is a registered practitioner psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (PYL37754).

Dr Alex specialises in working with children, young people and their families, especially those with physical health conditions, neurodevelopmental conditions and learning needs. This includes those who have suffered an acquired brain injury. Dr Alex is also experienced in conducting neuropsychological and cognitive assessments and using these to inform the implementation of educational and/or behavioural support plans.
In therapeutic work, Dr Alex draws on principles from Narrative therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Systemic ideas. She also works closely with parents, carers and wider family networks to support the system as a whole.
Dr Alex currently works part-time in the NHS at the Evelina Children’s Hospital alongside being a mum. She is undertaking further training to qualify as a Paediatric Clinical Neuropsychologist.
