Ali’s counselling journey started nearly 25 years ago working for a charity helping children understand, and begin to cope with, bereavement. Her work has taken her in many directions since then including working with both adults & young children and for a sexual health clinic.

Ali’s counselling journey started nearly 25 years ago working for a charity helping children understand, and begin to cope with, bereavement. Her work has taken her in many directions since then including working with both adults & young children and for a sexual health clinic. She now works in both private practice and for a counselling charity in London where she is a Senior Counsellor specialising in complex mental health issues and trauma. She is also Counselling Manager/Mentor to new trainees to counselling.

She has teenage children and lived experience of being a parent to a child with ADHD, ODD and Anxiety. It was her experiences of becoming a parent that encouraged her work in the direction of working with children, particularly teenagers.

She holds a Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling and practices using a combination of therapeutic clinical approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Talking Therapy, Solution Focussed Therapy and Rewind Trauma Therapy. She prides herself on adapting her approach to suit each individual client to ensure the best possible outcome for their therapy.

She works with a broad range of issues from anxiety, depression & phobias, relationship issues, gender identity issues, bereavement & loss to adult & childhood trauma, body dysmorphia, autism & ADHD and low/chronic self-esteem.

She is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
