Tim is a couples, individual and family counsellor for the last 8 years. He holds a Diploma in Relationship Counselling and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and I’m BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) registered.

When working with clients, Tim uses an ‘integrative approach’ from either a Systemic or Psychodynamic perspective. This means, he will explore what is happening ‘now’ in the couple relationship and develop an understanding of how our upbringing and past experiences define our relationships.

Tim’s approach is both empathetic and supportive. He will help you quickly feel at ease, listened to, and most importantly understood. During the relationship counselling process, you will explore the problems at hand in order to develop a holistic and comprehensive understanding of your unique situation.

Relationship counselling usually employs a process of change. Therefore, it’s important that you both feel valued and respected whilst working through what that change may look like in your scenario. Tim will encourage you to determine your desired outcome. Then, through the building of bridges, help you develop positive communication paths, so you are able to move forward. This process will not only improve self- esteem, but it will also allow respective voices to be heard. Tim’s easy-going approach will enable you to be heard and empowered in order to reach a more positive resolution going forward.

Tim will help you gain a better understanding of each other’s perspectives. This will be achieved through a calm, non-accusatory, therapeutic process. A process where you will both have a voice and be able to work through your relationship issues together for a sustainable outcome.

Tim works diversely and has experience working with same gender relationships. mixed cultures, families, and friendships.
