Kevin McNamara

Kevin specialises in working with children, young people and their families. He completed his undergraduate degree in Philosophy at the University of Kent before pivoting to retrain with children, young people and their families, taking those critical thinking skills to think about their issues systematically and work with them to find real solutions. Since then, he has trained extensively with leading provider Place2Be, latterly as a scholarship winner, and is about to complete his training with Trauma Informed Schools UK, a subsidiary of Institute For Arts In Therapy & Education. In the near future, he will be starting to train on the competitive Postgraduate Diploma in Children's Wellbeing. 

Kevin has over 5 years' experience working in children's services in the NHS and is now a Health and Wellbeing Coach for Children, Young People and Families working particularly with mental health and neurodivergence as the only professional of his kind in East Hertfordshire. 

He is a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and working towards membership of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), the British Psychological Society (BPS) and British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). Kevin provides coaching and mental health mentoring services to children and parents alike and incorporates psychological and play-based techniques that allow for his clients to explore their thoughts and motivations more clearly in working towards solutions. 

Kevin has worked for the NHS in Community Paediatrics, Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Primary Care Services. As somebody who lives with ADHD himself, he brings lived experience to his practice.
